Israeli "Tri-Logical" wins tender to monitor locomotives of the Thai Railways Authority

Posted on Apr 21, 2021 by Ifi Reporter

Tri-Logical, an Israeli company that develops IoT and cyber solutions for critical applications, has won a tender from the Thai government to monitor the locomotives of the country’s Railways Authority.
Under the deal, Tri-Logical will supply monitoring services for some 177 locomotives of SRT, the Thai government’s railways company, with a value of over a million dollars in the next three years, with an expectation for further expansion afterwards. The first phase of the project covers most of the company’s fleet of diesel engines and will serve as the main drive for enhanced reliability and availability to provide better service for passenger and freight trains.  Assimilation of this phase has begun and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
Tri-Logical develops IoT solutions that facilitate advanced command and control, data analysis and management in the fields of aviation, transport and security.  Apart from increasing the efficiency of maintenance and operation, the technology helps to improve safety and prevent accidents by providing early warnings of potential critical failures.  This is an active system that will enable the Thai Railways Authority, which has 14,000 employees, to improve the efficiency of maintenance, including data analysis and improve daily safety.
“SRT’s purchase of the advanced technology to monitor its railway operations is part of a global trend to create integrated systems to improve maintenance and safety, based on advanced sources of information and analysis of data, to support proactive maintenance, compared to traditional processes based on pre-defined schedules.  The Thai railway system will benefit from advanced technology which will quickly become a critical and integral component of routine railway operations and maintenance”, says Eyal Trichter, CEO of Tri-Logical.
“Winning this tender is an important achievement for us, because the international railways market in Asia presents a growing market with new investments. The total volume of goods carried freight trains in Thailand amounts to only 2% of all goods transportation in the country, compared to 18% in Europe. The freight market is expected to increase by 100% within a decade, in line with global trends. This represents a significant potential for projects and Israeli technologies, which will help the Thai railway system improve utilization of equipment and the reliability of its trains”, adds Trichter.
