250 checkpoints would be set up across the country and 2,500 vehicles would be deployed

A day before the start of the night closure designed to reduce morbidity in Corona on Purim, a briefing on the subject was held tonight (Wednesday) at Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer with the participation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, Minister of Internal Security Amir Ohana Kobe Saturn and other officials.
Commissioner Saturn said more than 250 checkpoints would be set up across the country and 2,500 vehicles would be deployed on the roads. We will operate barriers nationwide between the cities. I instructed the Investigations Division to act and open concurrent criminal fines against all those who organize all the illegal gatherings. We appeal to the public to show public responsibility. "
Corona projector Prof. Nachman Ash said: "A night curfew alone is not a magic trick, the conduct of the public throughout the day according to the revelations of the gatherings is very important, and of course at night, in the evenings, without parties and celebrations. "This is. We need to remember what happened last year so that we do not reach the Passover disease."
"On Purim last year, there was a dangerous outbreak that infected the masses, and you remember that we had to close the country, it must not be repeated," Prime Minister Netanyahu said at the opening of the briefing. "On this Purim we are all commanded to keep the rules, we can rejoice and dress up, but we must keep the rules. It is doubly important because we are really but really on the verge of getting out of the plague."
From tomorrow evening and over the weekend, police officers from the Traffic Division will deploy 24 long-distance checkpoints (except for "skipping" checkpoints elsewhere) that will operate during closing hours throughout the country. The checkpoints will be operated on long-distance routes leading to the cities in order to assist in the implementation of regulations set by the government. Alongside the checkpoints, hundreds of vehicles and police officers will operate during the closure hours along all routes throughout the country.
Although the closure only starts at 20:30, the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Health emphasized that during the day it will be possible to hold events in accordance with the guidelines for leaving the closure: a stay of 10 people in a closed space and 20 in an open space. Adlaide events, conferences and shows planned for the closing days will be canceled.
