The train services will return to activity south of the defense station in Tel Aviv this coming Wednesday (February 3). This, after three weeks of shutting down trains on these lines.
On behalf of the railway, it was explained a few weeks ago that the reason for the closure of the activity was the advance of the infrastructure works to the closure period due to a drop in the number of passengers using its services. The works included electrification of the Ashkelon line, connection of the Ashkelon operating complex to the national rail network, completion of the electric maintenance complex in Lod, as well as renovation of stations and maintenance of existing tracks.
On Wednesday this week, the train service will return on most lines south of Tel Aviv.
