Black Friday promotions: Israelis are storming the web with an increase of 18% in shopping

The shopping frenzy has begun: the culmination of the November discount celebrations that took place today (November 27) with the Black Friday promotions - and Israelis are ironing out credit. According to data from ICC, as of 12:00, Israel made purchases amounting to NIS 19 million on international trade sites, reflecting an increase of 18% compared to last year.
"As of 12:00, we are at an increased sales rate of about NIS 60,000 per minute, which is about NIS 1,000 per second. This rate will probably continue until the late evening hours," said ICC.
Along with the large numbers, there has also been an increase in complaints. The sites and shipping companies do not meet the load of orders and consumer organizations report a jump of hundreds of percent in complaints about delivery times and lack of response in the service centers of Israeli retail sites in all areas.
International sites are not without problems. By 2020 they offered sophisticated customer service, attractive prices and fast deliveries. The Corona has forfeited the cards all over the world and conditions have changed: delays in production lines alongside huge demand, have led to shortages and price increases in various products, especially in the electronics, kitchen products and small appliances categories.
The dramatic decrease in the frequency of international flights has affected the efficiency of shipping between countries - and will make shipments more expensive. Amazon, for example, canceled the free shipping offer on orders of more than $ 49 and even stopped deliveries to Israel (which have since returned, but at higher prices than before). The trading giant has not yet returned the sale and today Israelis pay much more for each shipment. The British website Next also temporarily stopped deliveries outside the country, and today many Israelis complain about a longer delivery time than usual from it and its counterpart Asus.
In Israeli sites, the situation is even worse. Israelis who purchase on the websites have to deal with long delivery times and poor customer service. Most Israeli fashion sites, both independent and owned by the big chains, offer delivery within about eight business days - compared to a global average of two to three business days. For example, according to data from the Consumer Council examined at TheMarker's request for the beginning of the year to November 24, in the electricity sector there was a jump of 423% in the number of complaints in 2020 compared to the corresponding months in 2019. In the field of computers, there was a 651% increase in the number of complaints, and in the field of fashion - an increase of 276% compared to the previous year.
