ASSA ABLOY Wins King’s Excellence Award for Innovative Wireless Access Lock

ASSA ABLOY has been awarded the King’s Excellence Award for Exemplary Product Design for its Aperio KL100 wireless lock — an advanced access security solution for cabinets, drawers, and small storage units. The award was presented at a gala ceremony during the Safe-Tech conference in Mumbai, India, which drew hundreds of safety experts, architects, consultants, and senior government officials. The annual event highlights innovation and practical solutions in security, fire protection, and disaster management.

The Aperio KL100 integrates seamlessly with more than 130 access control systems, enabling organizations to extend their existing digital access management to small storage spaces. The lock is battery-powered and wireless, enabling quick installation without drilling, wiring, or altering furniture.

The system supports RFID, Bluetooth, and NFC technologies, allowing access via smart cards, digital keys, wristbands, or smartphones. It is designed to meet the needs of environments such as offices, hospitals, laboratories, hotels, retail spaces, and educational institutions, where sensitive materials or personal belongings require controlled access.

ASSA ABLOY teams in Israel contributed to characterizing use-case requirements for the healthcare, education, and commercial sectors.
