Revenue from food chains in September increased by 11.2% compared to the same period last year, when total revenue from retail chains increased by 8.6%; This is according to CBS data published on Monday. In addition, in the shadow of the restrictions and closure imposed during September, there was a 4.8% increase in the revenue of the food chains compared to August, and a 1.4% increase in the total revenue of the retail chains.
Revenue figures in the marketing chains refer to chains that specialize in food and chains that specialize in other products: textiles and clothing, footwear, durable products (products that can be reused and extended for more than another year), housewares and "miscellaneous": cosmetics, medicines, toys, books , Office equipment and optics. The revenue of the chains defined as food chains also includes the revenue from the sale of cleaning materials and other products.
Between January and August this year, the revenue of the retail chains increased by 3.1% compared to the corresponding period last year (seasonally adjusted). Of this, the revenue of food chains increased by 8.6% and of durable goods by 2.8%. In contrast, a large decrease of 14.1% was recorded in the revenue of the textile and clothing chains, and of 10.4% in the private consumption of fuel.
