Partner and Univim Launch SIM-Based Mobile Identity Verification in Israel
Posted on Nov 2, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Partner Communications Group, one of Israel’s leading telecommunications providers, has announced a new partnership with Univim, a global pioneer in SIM-based mobile identity verification, to launch an advanced digital authentication solution for Partner’s mobile customers.
The technology enables instant, secure access to online services in the banking, credit, insurance, and pension sectors — without the need for passwords, SMS codes, or dedicated apps — while providing real-time protection of user data and privacy.
Smart: secure, seamless, and password-free
The verification process uses a three-layer identification method that cross-references:
-
The SIM/eSIM serial number,
-
The mobile device ID, and
-
The customer’s mobile number.
This multi-factor approach ensures that the user’s identity is verified securely and automatically. The customer simply confirms the action via a pop-up notification on their device — with no passwords, installations, or manual entry required.
Combatting rising digital fraud
In recent years, Israeli banks, insurers, and pension funds have faced a sharp rise in digital fraud and identity theft. Partner and Univim’s joint solution offers an effective defense against such threats by utilizing telecom-grade network data to confirm user authenticity in real time.
According to the companies, the technology is already in advanced adoption stages with several leading financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and insurance providers in Israel.
Yigael Giladi, Partner’s Vice President of Engineering, said:
“After a comprehensive review of authentication technologies, we identified Univim as a strategic partner that brings real innovation to the market.
The ability to authenticate users directly at the SIM level — without burdening them with passwords or extra apps — marks a significant leap forward in both user experience and information security.
This collaboration allows us to provide our customers with more advanced and secure digital services.”
About the partnership
The collaboration positions Partner as one of the first Israeli telecom operators to deploy SIM-level identity verification, aligning with a growing global trend toward passwordless authentication. For Univim, the deal represents a key milestone in expanding its mobile identity technology into new markets and industries.
