From Tribute to Triumph: Hapoel Bublil Hod Hasharon Rises to League A with Perfect Season

Posted on Jul 21, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

In a remarkable debut year, Hapoel Bublil Hod Hasharon has completed a perfect season in Israel’s B League, finishing with an undefeated 18-0 record and earning promotion to League A—just one year after the team's establishment. The club was founded in memory of the late businessman Moshe Bublil, former owner of the Club hotel chain and a passionate figure in Israeli basketball.

The dramatic final game of the season ended with a buzzer-beater by team captain and founder Adam Bublil, Moshe’s son, sealing the perfect campaign and capping an emotional year for the team and its supporters.

A Legacy on the Court

Hapoel Bublil Hod Hasharon was established in mid-2024, two months after Moshe Bublil’s passing, as a way to honor his enduring connection to basketball. Moshe previously coached Hapoel Tel Aviv’s women’s team in the Premier League and was widely admired in the basketball community.

“This team was born out of love for the game and love for my father,” said Adam Bublil, who played youth basketball for Hapoel Tel Aviv and now leads the new club as both captain and visionary. “My credo is to continue working hard, maintain a positive atmosphere, and respect the purpose for which the team was established.”

Built for Excellence

The team’s meteoric rise is no accident. Composed of 15 players, most of whom previously played at professional levels in youth and national leagues, Hapoel Bublil Hod Hasharon added two new signings ahead of the season to bolster their strength.

Their impeccable record in the B League demonstrates both talent and chemistry, driven by a unifying mission to honor Moshe Bublil’s name through excellence on the court.

Backed by Legacy and Support

The team is sponsored by the Club Hotel chain, continuing Moshe Bublil’s business legacy alongside his sporting passion. Veteran coach and Israeli basketball figure Pini Gershon once remarked that Moshe’s decision to leave coaching for the business world was “a great loss to Israeli basketball.”

Now, with Hapoel Bublil Hod Hasharon making waves in the sport, it appears that legacy is being restored in a new form.

Looking Ahead: League A and Beyond

As the team prepares for its debut in League A, the mission remains clear. “Our main goal now is to remain competitive and keep winning, while staying true to the values and memory of my father,” said Adam.

With heart, history, and momentum on their side, Hapoel Bublil Hod Hasharon enters the next chapter not just as a team to watch—but as a story that continues to inspire.
