The Center for the Collection of Fines in the Enforcement and Collection Authority has published the collection data of the fines imposed by the police for various violations of the quarantine and of other regulations enacted by the government in order to reduce the morbidity of the corona virus.
According to the Enforcement Authority, so far about 306,000 fines have been received for various violations of the Corona Regulations, in a cumulative amount of about NIS 170 million.
According to the data, in the past week alone, the center received about 35,000 fines. This is an increase of about 380% from the weekly average before the current closure, which stood at 9,000 reports per week.
To date, about 65,000 reports have been paid, worth about NIS 27 million, of which about 4,500 cases with a total value of NIS 2 million have been paid over the past week.
According to the director of the center, Doron Infrastructure, despite the continuous increase in the payment of fines imposed, these are still not simple and worrying data: "As of today, about 50,000 reports have not been paid by the deadline (90 days since imposition). At a rate of 50%, and we begin collection proceedings, including the imposition of foreclosures. Many of the recipients of the reports are normative citizens who have not yet encountered the rather effective procedures of the Center for the Collection of Fines. "For those who have been financially affected by the Corona crisis, such as the unemployed and those who go on unpaid leave."
Police said last weekend its staff recorded 9,952 reports for various violations of the quarantine provisions and protection against the corona virus.
According to the police, about 7,000 reports were given for violating the quarantine and leaving the house for a prohibited purpose, about 2,000 reports were given for not wearing a mask in the public space and 134 reports were given for violating the insulation obligation.
