Israel and US will launch a joint working group with the FCC

Communications Minister Ayoub Kara and Chairman of the US Federal Communications Commission, Mr. Aguet Pye, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint working group for the Ministry of Communications and the FCC.
This group will meet regularly to exchange ideas, opinions and best practices on policy and regulation, including fiber optics, the implementation of 4G services, preparations for the 5th generation and net neutrality tenders.
This Memorandum of Understanding will allow joint meetings in Israel and Washington, as well as regular videoconferences from the two ministries.
The Minister and the Chair discussed the strengthening of bilateral ties and incentives for the deployment of cellular and fiber optic infrastructures, the encouragement of development of innovative services, privacy and the promotion of regulatory programs.
The chairman of the FCC reviewed the preparations for his 5th generation office and participated in his plans to issue a tender for next generation frequencies in November. When the target is to start with the frequencies of 24-28 GHz, some of the uses will be in Fixed Wireless.
Minister Kara invited Mr. Ajit for a reciprocal visit to Israel and expressed his support for the US nomination for the role of Director of the ITV Development Sector
