mortgages in April down 20% from March: NIS 4.14 billion

In April, NIS 4.14 billion of mortgages were taken out - down 20% from March. This emerges from data published by the Bank of Israel. Compared to April of last year, a rise of 13.4% was recorded.
The number of borrowers in April fell by 23% compared to March. There was also a drop in the number of investors by 34%. The number of housing loans in April amounted to 5,970, of which 716 were for investment purposes.
The fixed interest rate linked to the CPI declined in April, and its average rate was 3.22%, compared with 3.27% in March. The unindexed fixed interest rate declined slightly to 3.81% in April
