Possible: submitting applications for the assistance grant to the self-employed and employees who control a company

The website of the Tax Authority opened up the possibility of submitting applications for the assistance grant to the self-employed and employees who control a few companies, in the amount of up to NIS 15,000. This is part of the implementation of the economic safety net. The application can be submitted until November 25, 2020, and the grant will be paid within 5 days from the date of completion of verification of the bank account.
The grant is intended for self-employed and controlling employees, whose activity turnover was disrupted in May-June 2020 due to the outbreak of the corona virus, at a rate of at least 40% compared to the same period in 2019. The amount of the grant will be 70% of the average taxable income per month in 2018 or 2019, whichever is higher, for each of the two months of eligibility. From the total amount, the grant paid during the last month of July, in the amount of up to NIS 7,500, which was the first payment on the grant account for the months of May-June 2020, will be deducted. Requirement to recoup the difference.
The new grant is intended for self-employed individuals and controlling employees, whose total taxable income in 2018 or 2019 did not exceed NIS 651,600, and whose total monthly taxable income from the business in the relevant year exceeds NIS 714.
Conditions for eligibility for a grant for the self-employed:
Self-employed persons who have at least 20 years of age in 2019.
Individuals who ran a business in 2019 and the business was active until at least December 31, 2019.
In May-June 2020, there was a decrease of at least 40% in the turnover of business activity compared to the corresponding period in 2019.
The dealer submitted periodic VAT reports for these periods in 2019 and 2020.
The dealer kept account books according to the law and the books were not disqualified.
The dealer submitted an annual income tax report for 2018 or 2019 to whoever opened the business for that year.
Conditions for eligibility for a grant for controlling shareholders in a few companies:
Employees with control of an active few company.
The company paid them a half-year salary for at least October 31, 2019.
Are not entitled to unemployment benefits from the National Insurance Institute due to their income.
Applying for a grant for the next eligibility period (July-August 2020) is expected to open in the first half of September and the Authority will announce the date in the coming days.
