IAI successfully demonstrated the Alta, a division and subsidiary of IAI developed by Drone Guard. The system designed to deal with drone threats has been successfully demonstrated at major international airports in Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia. The demonstrations were carried out during the normal working hours of the airports to examine how the system would detect and neutralize the skiers without disrupting flights and without frightening passengers in the terminal.
The operational need for airports around the world to respond to the threat of terminals in the terminals, especially in the area of runways and take-offs, has increased following the closure of Gatwick Airport after aircraft flown around the runway disrupted the take-off and landing of about 1,000 flights.
The Drone Guard system used for detecting quadocopters and intercepting them. It includes radar detecting and tracking all types of    quadocopters, classifying them according to their transmission, threat detection and signal detector and JAMMER neutralizing object and interceptor. The system is managed by a single command and control unit, whose main advantage is its ability to provide additional protection in the event of another layer failure. The system was built specifically for airport operations and tested to the satisfaction of airport operators after demonstrating its ability to locate skimmers and prevent disruptions In the routine operations of the air zone.
The Drone Guard provides a huge advantage to end users who want to operate anti-skid measures at airports and populated areas thanks to its ability to operate in parallel with existing contact systems such as radars, communications systems and other systems in the complex electromagnetic spectrum of the airport. The X-Band frequency therefore does not disrupt the other radar operation in the field.
Alta CEO and Chief Operating Officer, Yoav Turgeman said: "The Drone Guard system is operational and has been sold in hundreds of units to customers around the world. The system is used to secure many facilities, territories and events around the world and we are pleased to provide solutions for major airports as well. And the Drone Guard is lightweight, easy to transport and easy to install, we were able to meet demand with excellent performance. In September we participated in a NATO maneuver in Portugal, where we successfully demonstrated the Drone Guard in protecting ants from hostile drones, drones and vessels Other unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as from ground threats.
