NVIDIA has officially selected Kiryat Tivon as the site of its next major Israeli development center, marking a historic milestone for both the company and Israel’s high-tech sector. After a five-month evaluation of multiple alternatives, the world’s most valuable company—currently valued at $4.3 trillion—chose the Rami area in Kiryat Tivon for a new, sprawling campus that will anchor its long-term presence in the country.

Nvidia will purchase the land from the state for NIS 90 million, becoming the first multinational technology company in Israel to own, rather than lease, its campus land. Until now, global tech giants such as Intel, Microsoft, Google, and Meta have operated exclusively from rented facilities.

A “Spaceship” Campus  Commitment

The new campus—designed in the shape of a spaceship, similar to Nvidia’s iconic headquarters in Silicon Valley—will be built on 90 dunams and encompass approximately 160,000 square meters. It will be the largest technology campus in Israel, equivalent in size to Nvidia’s two California “spaceships” combined.

The complex will include offices, shared workspaces, parks, cafés, and restaurants—effectively functioning as a self-contained tech city. Once completed, it will be able to accommodate more than 10,000 employees.

Construction is expected to begin in about a year, following planning and permitting processes, with occupancy projected for 2031. The total investment is estimated at several billion shekels.

Huang: “Israel Has Become Nvidia’s Second Home”

With the official announcement, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang underscored the strategic importance of Israel to the company:

“Israel is home to some of the world’s brightest technologists and engineers, and it has become Nvidia’s second home. Our new campus will be the place where our teams can collaborate, invent, and build the future of AI. This investment reflects our deep and long-term commitment to our families in Israel and their unique contributions to the AI era.”

Amit Krieg, Senior Vice President of Software Engineering and head of Nvidia’s Israel Development Center, added:

“NVIDIA’s growth in Israel has been extraordinary, driven by the incredible talent and engineering excellence of our people. We thank Jensen and NVIDIA management for their trust and support in this next phase of growth, as well as the Ministry of Finance and the Israel Land Authority for their partnership. We look forward to bringing this vision to reality and continuing to build the future of AI.”

First ‘Spaceship’ Campus Outside the United States

The Kiryat Tivon site will be Nvidia’s first spaceship-style campus outside the U.S. While the company is also advancing plans for a similar facility in Taiwan—near the factories that manufacture its AI-dominant GPU chips—the Israeli campus represents a unique expansion of Nvidia’s global footprint.

Israel as Nvidia’s Second-Largest Global Hub

Nvidia currently employs around 5,000 people in Israel, making it the company’s second-largest center worldwide after the United States. Its Israeli operations are anchored in Yokneam, built on the foundation of Mellanox, which Nvidia acquired in 2020 for $7 billion.

Additional assets include:

  • Offices in the Rubinstein Towers in Tel Aviv

  • An expanding site in Be’er Sheva, expected to employ hundreds in the Gav Yam high-tech park

  • A major server farm and the Israel-1 supercomputer, ranked among the world’s top 50

This week, it was also revealed that Nvidia plans to build Israel’s largest server farm in the Mevo Carmel industrial zone, adjacent to its existing facility. The project, estimated at $1.5 billion, is being developed jointly with real estate company Mega Or.

Rapid Growth and Aggressive Hiring

Nvidia Israel currently has around 400 open positions, and its hiring pace is the fastest among all Nvidia locations outside the U.S. Recruitment in Israel exceeds that of India and even Europe, underscoring the strategic role of the local workforce in Nvidia’s global AI roadmap.

Why Kiryat Tivon? Strategic Geography and Speed

The Kiryat Tivon site was chosen from a long list of proposals following a public Request for Information (RFI) issued by Nvidia last July. While the state encouraged the company to consider more northern locations—such as Kiryat Ata—to support regions affected by the war, Nvidia prioritized proximity to its existing hub in Yokneam and its server infrastructure in Mevo Carmel.

The final decision was made last week during a visit by Nvidia Israel executives, led by Amit Krieg, to the company’s U.S. headquarters. During the visit, Jensen Huang also met Avinan Or, an Nvidia employee who was kidnapped on October 7 and released in October as part of a hostage deal.

Government Incentives and KKL-JNF Tensions

The government approved the allocation of the land at a NIS 70 million discount, even though Nvidia did not request one. The deal required signatures from the defense and foreign ministers, in line with Israel Land Authority regulations governing contracts with foreign entities.

However, the KKL-JNF (Jewish National Fund) has expressed opposition to the expedited process and may seek to deduct the value of the discount from its NIS 2 billion debt to the state.

Documents published by the Ministry of Economy indicate that the land allocated to Nvidia could be expanded further in the future, already making it significantly larger than any other tech campus in Israel. For comparison, Nvidia’s current Yokneam headquarters spans just 30,000 square meters and houses about 3,000 employees.

A Strategic Bet on Israel’s AI Future

With this unprecedented investment, Nvidia is signaling not only confidence in Israel’s technological talent but a deep, long-term strategic commitment at a time of geopolitical and economic uncertainty. The Kiryat Tivon campus is set to become a cornerstone of Israel’s AI ecosystem—and a defining symbol of Nvidia’s global ambitions.
