IBM's global security division in collaboration with the company's research division is expanding the Center for Excellence in Cyber ​​Research (CCOE) and new laboratory launches in Be'er Sheva. To this end, the company mobilizes several dozen employees.

IBM's Center for Excellence in Cyber ​​Research, which has been operating for four years on the campus of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, today launched a new and expanded laboratory at the Gav Yam Negev High-Tech Park in Be'er Sheva. The Center of Excellence conducts research focusing on various aspects of information security in cooperation with researchers from Ben-Gurion University, the company's clients and various organizations in the Israeli cyber industry. Researchers and developers from various units in the security division operating in Israel include Terastir, which specializes in security solutions for financial institutions, Guardium, which provides security solutions for databases and the QRadar system, a comprehensive platform for collecting, analyzing and prioritizing security events across the enterprise network.
Among other things, the Center conducts research in the field of Insider Threats, in order to prevent security failures from organizational users, research and development of biometric algorithms to improve user authentication capabilities, and technology that identifies and analyzes botnets that perform organized attacks and fraud. Another area in which the researchers focus on Israel is the security of networks of connected vehicles. The Center also deals with software research and development to secure databases and new technologies for the identification of malware and unusual systems behavior patterns for the early detection of security threats at endpoints (laptops, smartphones, etc.).
