The cellular company Partner published the financial report for 2018, indicating that its revenues totaled NIS 3.2 billion, a slight decrease of NIS 9 million compared to 2017. The company recorded a net profit of NIS 56 million in 2018. This compares to NIS 114 million in 2017. The company noted that the profit includes receipts of NIS 108 million from France Telecom received in the first half of 2017.
Despite the minor decline in revenues, the company's operating profit rose by 3% compared to 2017 and amounted to NIS 1.9 billion, but EBITDA fell sharply by 22% to NIS 722 million.
The number of TV subscribers stood at 140,000 at the end of the year, up 79,000, an increase of 184% compared with the end of 2017.
Itzik Benvenisti, Partner Group CEO: "The results of 2018 reflect Partner's strength in the Israeli communications market. We continue to focus, among other things, on maintaining value to the customer, through exclusive technologies such as VoLTE and WiFi calling, and investing significant resources in maintaining the satisfaction of our existing customers, in order to maintain exceptionally low abandonment rates. "
"Partner TV is the growing television service in Israel with a subscription base of 140,000 subscribers, with only 79,000 subscribers added in 2018. Partner TV's advanced interface is best adapted to the new viewing habits and set a new standard in the multi-channel television market in Israel."
Benvenisti stressed that Partner's fiber optic infrastructure, Partner Fiber, is growing at the fastest pace in the market. In recent months, we have expanded our deployment in dozens of cities, and we are already reaching Partner's fiber for more than 350,000 households, which constitute close to 20% of households connected to the Internet in Israel. In addition, and in light of the challenges currently faced by the companies operating in the communications sector, Partner, together with the workers' union and the Histadrut, reached a new collective agreement that takes care of workers' welfare, and directly links Partner's success to the employees' compensation.
