According to the preliminary investigation of the Israeli spacecraft Beresheet's landing maneuver, following an IMU malfunction a command was uploaded to the spacecraft. This led to a chain of events in the spacecraft, which turned off the main engine and prevented proper engine activation. The SpaceIL and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) team continues to investigate what occurred during the mission. In the coming weeks, final results of the investigation will be released.

Morris Kahn the president of SPACE-IL promised in an interview on Channel 12 that the "Bereshit 2" project would be launched.
Morris Kahn stressed that the funding would be received from donors, from the public. "Everyone wants to participate, I received an offer from the United States, and I spoke with a friend of mine who also wants to give me half a million dollars, but I think that the money should come from the public as a whole.
Kahn was the major contributor and donor to the Bereshit project, and most of the funding came from his pocket. "I will be willing to contribute to the issue and do what it takes," Kahn promised.

The Israeli spacecraft "Bereishit" did reach the moon at 22:25, thursday April 4th but it crashed on its land and did not complete its mission. "It's still a huge achievement," IAI said. At Space-IL's control room in Yehud the engineers and friends began to cheer the team, despite the disappointment.
Minutes after the landing maneuver. a Selfi image of the spacecraft and the moon was transferred, but then difficulties began.

"We're currently having a problem with one of our control units that measures the direction of the spacecraft, and right now we're without communication," we updated in the control room. "A main engine is not on, we may have a problem with a main engine, the situation at the moment looks bad, we are without a main engine, we lose height, we lost a lot of altitude, our situation is unclear."
Ofer Doron, director of the aerospace industry's aerospace industry, went on to update them and there was no one in the ranks. "We have a concern that we did not land in the best possible way," he said. "Unfortunately, we will not be the fourth country in the world, we have reached the moon, but not as we wanted, the spacecraft reached its full moon, and this is still a great achievement, we are the seventh country to reach the moon."
"After an initial look at the data, it appears that one of the accelerators caused a chain of events that led to extinguishing the engine and to the lack of success," Doron said. "We reached the moon, but not in one piece. The probe found that the spacecraft began to fall free from a height of 10 kilometers, apparently at a speed of 400 to 500 mph.
Before the landing, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his wife Sara and his son Yair arrived at the control room. After the great disappointment, he said: "We have reached the moon, but we will try again, we will want next time to land comfortably, the very attempt is a tremendous achievement."
President of the State Reuven Rivlin, speaking from the President's Residence, told the sad children that he had hosted and hoped to see history: "Sometimes there are disappointments, but they are dwarfed by the tremendous achievement. Can afford. We did not need so much money because we have wonderful people. "
SpaceIL president Morris Kahn, who donated $ 40 million to the project, said at the press conference: "We did not succeed to the end, but our achievement is tremendous, it was a great project and I do not regret the moment we tried and done. I expect the next generation of Israel to complete the mission for us. "
After a crash on the moon, IAI issued a special announcement saying, "It is proud to be a partner of SpaceIL in the amazing project that brought us to the moon and we will continue to lead the State of Israel to achievements and to areas we have not yet reached.
The Israeli spacecraft was launched into space on February 22. In order to save fuel, it moved for 48 days in elliptic orbits in space. Last Thursday she was trapped by the moon's gravity and since then she has surrounded it. In the last few days, the moon's lunar cycle lasted two hours. Before the landing, the spacecraft turned the engine again in a direction opposite to its flight, almost to a halt.
