A new giant deal for IAI: The company reported that it had signed a $ 550 million deal with an Asian country's ground forces to supply a command and control system known as a "skyscraper." The system will upgrade the batteries of the short-range anti-aircraft systems and will receive payments on the project according to milestones, and over a period of four years.
The 'skyscraper' system was developed specifically for the customer and will be supplied within four years. The system will enable the upgrade of the old air defense batteries and make them more accurate. It includes a command and control system, electro-optic sensors and research radars developed by the subsidiary Elta.
The system provides precise target data for the interceptor and manages the threat and fire detection process according to the type of target.
According to estimates the client is the army of India. Last week, the company announced a $ 777 million deal in India to supply an air defense system for seven ships built by the Indian Navy, so that within a week, IAI's Missile and Aerospace Systems Division received deals worth more than $ 1.3 billion.
"This is a unique system solution developed by IAI based on the future generation of the world of short-range air defense. The 'Skyscraper' system combines a number of different interception methodologies and reflects IAI's extensive capabilities in the field of air defense. "
