Talon Cyber Security, developer of the first secure browser for enterprises, has completed a $100 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Evolution Equity Partners, with participation from Ballistic Ventures, CrowdStrike's Falcon Fund, Merlin Ventures, SYN, and existing investors George Kurtz, founder and CEO of CrowdStrike, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sorenson Ventures and Team8 Capital. The round brings the total amount that Talon has raised since its inception to $126 million. The fundraising funds will be used to continue developing and improving the product and speeding up the market in order to meet global demand.

The growingTalon Cyber Security was established in 2021 by the serial entrepreneurs from the 8200, Ofer Ben-Nun, former founder of Argos Cyber Security, who serves as CEO, and Ohad Bobrov, (CTO), former founder of Lacon Mobile Security which was sold to Check Point and VP to the check point after the purchase. Talon currently employs 75 people, most of them in the development center in Israel and another team in the USA.
Last year, the company launched the TalonWork secure browser, based on the Chromium open source project, and allows companies to effectively protect a distributed workforce, without compromising the level of information security and the employee experience. Talon's browser creates an isolated bubble that protects all the organizational resources used by the employee, regardless of the type of device, location or network from which he connects.
The modern work environment is characterized by a distributed workforce, which includes extensive outsourcing and relies heavily on the use of SaaS applications. The use of traditional security solutions to allow access to applications and organizational resources is complex, expensive and puts the organizations themselves at high risk of a cyber attack. Talon's solution introduces a new approach to the security of the endpoints in the organization by enabling secure access to resources from any device, in any operating system. Through Talon's platform, the security personnel in organizations receive an in-depth view of the use of the browser and external applications, a requirement for authentication, data loss prevention and Zero Trust control.
Talon has recorded extraordinary achievements in recent months, including winning the title of "the most innovative startup" among hundreds of startups from all over the world in a competition held as part of the RSA 2022 World Cyber Conference in San Francisco. The company recently launched the first secure browser for mobile and announced partnerships with the two leading companies in the world in end device security: Microsoft and CrowdStrike.
Ofer Ben-Nun, CEO of Talon Cyber Security: "The world's leading companies are moving to managing their systems remotely via the Internet and creating a huge and immediate demand for a platform that will allow employees secure access without changing the way people work. We have established the unique team and technology that will enable Talon to set a new standard of security for the modern world of work. The solution we developed is based on the most popular application in organizations - the browser. The new funding round will allow us to continue to show why the most sought-after component is Talon's secure enterprise browser."
Richard Seewald, founder and managing partner at Evolution Equity Partners, which led the funding round: "The word innovative is often thrown around in cyber, but with Talon it's an accurate description. I've never seen a company create, lead a category so confidently and with such traction customer rush. Talon has the potential to become one of the leading companies in the global security industry, and it is an honor for me to help it on its way and join the company's board of directors."
George Kurtz, founder and CEO of CrowdStrike, who invested in the company in the early stages and has now expanded his investment: "Today's cyber threat environment is complicated, but an organization's approach to security shouldn't be complicated either. By delivering enterprise-grade protection through the TalonWork browser, Talon makes security simple and effective for its customers."
"When we launched Ballistic, one of the missions we set for ourselves was to find and partner with companies that have the technology and capabilities to change the world of cybersecurity, and Talon is a perfect fit," said Jake Seid, co-founder and principal at Ballistic Ventures. "The browser has become the most important tool for employees today, and Talon does what few security products do. It offers the benefits of strong security, a convenient user experience, and a low cost for the organization. Talon's team and solution are some of the strongest I've come across, and the current round of hiring will help To bring the company to new heights."
