The Israeli astronaut and businessman Eitan Steva, along with members of the AX-1 mission team Dragon, landed on Earth off the coast of Florida. The exciting moment of landing was preceded by a number of stages, when the process of disconnection from the International Space Station began at 03:55 (Israel time).

Steva has been in space since April 8, completing a total of 17 days in space, 16 of them at the International Space Station. Just before entering the atmosphere, the spacecraft's crew compartment separated from the service cell (which includes the solar panels) and activated its engines in order to enter the atmosphere. The separation from the service cell was made in order for the heat shield to lead to the entry of the capsule in which the astronauts are into the atmosphere.
The spacecraft entered the atmosphere at a speed of about 17,000 miles per hour (27,000 km / h). The friction in the atmosphere layer slowed the spacecraft drastically while heating the capsule to temperatures above 1600 degrees.
Throughout the process, ventilation systems in the spacecraft and suits maintained crew members and the spacecraft itself. The speed of the spacecraft continued to decrease until it reached a speed of 560 km / h that allows the parachutes to open.
When landing in the water, the spacecraft slowed down to a speed of about 30 km / h. Immediately after landing, speedboats arrived that checked the condition of the general spacecraft, and made sure that there were no leaks or unexpected injuries to the spacecraft's body. To her deck.
As is customary in space missions - the mission team (Ax-1) will be evacuated from the spacecraft, while performing medical tests. From the landing site, the crew will be taken to the launch site, Cape Canaveral, Florida, where Axiom Space, SpaceX and NASA teams are awaiting further testing for Ax-1 crew members.
President Yitzhak Herzog congratulated the Israeli astronaut Eitan Stiva on landing back on Earth as part of the 'Sky' mission, and said "Eitan Stiva The Israeli astronaut - Welcome back to Earth! A small step for man, a big step for the State of Israel and for humanity's space mission."
The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Orit Farkash HaCohen, also greeted and said: "Eitan, we are happy that you have returned to Earth! A celestial mission has been completed, the experiments performed will help advance the space industry and Israeli science for many years to come."
Steva was launched as part of the first private space mission in history, by Axium (Ax-1) featuring Michael Lopez-Allegria, former NASA astronaut and vice president, Larry Connor, American entrepreneur and activist investor in non-profit organizations and Mark Pati, investor and Canadian philanthropist Lopez-Allegria, who has flown into space four times in 20 years, and broken many NASA records, became the first person to command a fully civilian and commercial manned space flight. Conor became the first private mission pilot in the history of spaceflight, and Canada's 11th astronaut.
Steve's mission, in its Hebrew name 'Rakia', lasted more than a week, during which dozens of experiments were conducted by Israeli scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs. These experiments reflect a wide range of areas, and are expected to lead to technological, scientific and medical breakthroughs that will affect humanity on Earth - and beyond. Alongside the experiments, Steve staged educational activities for children and youth in Israel from space.
