After the government's five-year plan of NIS 600 million was approved for the Arab company's participation in high-tech, an event was held in Nazareth to mark the achievement at the initiative of the Tzofen organization that works to build high-tech in Arab society, with senior high-tech, government and Arab society. The plan, recently approved, was formulated by the Council of Chiefs of Staff and Code, in consultation with Deloitte and in partnership with the Edmond de Rothschild Foundation and the umbrella organization of the high-tech industries IATI.
The event was hosted by Dr. Ramzi Halabi, Chairman of the Code and Revital Duak, and Sami Saadi, co-CEOs of the organization. During the event, Duak said: Within five years, an increase of about 60% - we would like to see you combine arms with us. "The dream of every non-profit organization is to expand its activities - and now is the time to join forces." Saadi added that "there are people who write history and there are those who do it - we belong to the second part. Implementing the program will help change people's lives, 'not in philosophy'."
Among the participants, senior officials from the government sector, Arab society and the high-tech world: Dedi Perlmutter, former vice president of Intel and co-chairman of the Public Council for the Promotion of High-Tech in Arab Society in the Zofan organization; Ilan Birnfeld, chairman of Deloitte Israel; Yael Mevorach, former director general of the Ministry of Social Equality; Adv. Modar Yunis, Chairman of the Committee of Heads of Arab Authorities; Ronen Nir, Managing Partner of the Viola Foundation; Dr. Yossi Vardi; Prof. Ziad Hanna, CEO of Cadence in Israel; Hassan Tuafra, Head of the Economic Development Authority of Arab Society and more.
Speakers outlined what needs to happen for the plan to succeed - and even quoted Churchill and Einstein: Former Intel vice president Dedi Perlmutter and co-chair of the Codex Public Council said "integrating Arab society into high-tech is a social and economic lever - for the benefit of us all. Government ministries have limitations in driving processes but in the end need to convene and focus them on plans. As Churchill said - 'This is just the end of the beginning'. Now - the interesting part is to do what was planned. "In the last month, I have also started serving as chairman of the Committee for the Encouragement of Human Capital in High-Tech, and I have no doubt that Arab society will play an important part in the implementation of this program."
Businessman and entrepreneur Yossi Vardi also chose to quote a historical figure: "Einstein is attributed the saying that developing an achievement is 5% the idea and 95% the realization ... Now is the time to act. Today Israeli high-tech strives to emulate Arab society, but at the end of the integration "Only from government budgets - we need leaders, 'champions' with passion, otherwise the money will remain lying. There are more than 300,000 people in this industry, I am sure we can recruit 300-400 leaders who will be the movement for the implementation of the move."
Prof. Ziad Hanna - a pioneer of Arab society in high-tech, and currently CEO of Cadence Israel, said: "At the beginning of my career in high-tech, no one thought that people from Arab society would work in industry. Three decades later and we are already talking about a significant plan. With a good idea and good realization - create a good product. High-tech is the momentum of Arab society to advance the Israeli economy. "
Advocate Modar Yunis Chairman of the Committee of Arab Authorities: "Once upon a time, the young people of Arab society all went to study medicine, accounting and law - there is no doubt that Arab society has changed. "To invest more in high-tech. This is where the connection is made with Cipher and I thank them for all this work, which they would not have read without the support of the philanthropic foundations. The test is not in obtaining the money - but in the application, and we will succeed."
Ilan Birnfeld, Chairman of Deloitte Israel, promised that Deloitte will work to hire more employees from Arab society: "This is no longer a project for him, but part of our vision and a change that creates a real impact. We have crossed the 12% threshold of our employees who are from Arab society. We are looking forward - and we promise that we will increase their number and employ hundreds and thousands as well. "
