A virtual meeting of high-tech experts from the US and Europe who are planning to return to Israel was held at the initiative of the Innovation Authority as part of the launch of the Back2Tech program to return Israelis to Israel and join high-tech companies, development centers and leading startups.
The program is designed to allow returnees to pre-close their future workplace in the country, and even start working there remotely thus making the transition smooth and comfortable. At the meeting, Efrat Dagan and Heli Nachman, who previously lived in California and spoke about their personal experience back in Israel, spoke to senior positions in companies. The former director of the Innovation Authority, Aharon Aharon and the entrepreneurs Guy Franklin and Oded Hermoni, talked about the changes that Israeli high-tech has undergone that make it attractive and with a wide growth potential for talented employees.
According to Yotam Zucker, CQ Global, who is leading the program for the Innovation Authority, the corona crisis, which has hit hard in many countries, has reminded many of the benefits of living in Israel. The tremendous growth of Israeli high-tech and the growing demand for thousands of professional workers open up endless possibilities for easy absorption in Israel, often in good positions and conditions than abroad. Unlike in the past, it is possible to start working in an Israeli company abroad. The Israeli market has matured in recent years and the place of rapid exits has been replaced by recruitment and cultivation of huge companies with a local center of activity. Israeli companies benefit from joining employees with international experience so that both parties benefit.
It is estimated that 600,000 Israelis currently live outside the country's borders, of whom over 10,000 have a technological background. Some were previously sent to relocation from their place of work and continued their lives in the same country and others acquired over the years a suitable education. CQ Global was selected by the Innovation Authority to lead the program due to its experience in locating and recruiting candidates worldwide for Israeli companies. The company is active in 30 countries with acquaintances with the professional Israeli community living outside the country.
