The Corona Commission has ruled that beaches and swimming pools will remain open on weekends. The committee decided to postpone the vote on the opening of the restaurants, apparently in the evening. Voting on the opening of museums, attractions and gyms has been postponed for the rest of the week.
At the beginning of the meeting, the chairman of the committee, Yifat Shasha Bitton, referred to the restrictions that the government decided on over the weekend and said that "we are still having a dialogue with the government. We will not vote on what has not yet been agreed. "However, she announced that the swimming pools and beaches will be excluded - and opened.
As for the restaurants, Shasha Bitton explained, "The government still wants them to operate only outside. During the evening, the government will bring a new order for a vote." She also said that regarding the closure of the attractions, museums and zoos there will be a vote during the week and regarding the gyms there will be a vote on Wednesday.
This morning, coalition chairman MK Miki Zohar announced that the government intends to keep the pools and beaches open and continue to operate restaurants only in the outer part. He also claimed to have seen contagious data in the gyms and therefore did not confirm their opening.
Mickey Zohar said this morning that the prime minister is concerned that the committee's decisions will endanger public health. "We reached almost two thousand infected people a day. If we reach a thousand critically ill patients, the event will change dramatically, the health system will collapse and we will not be able to save lives.
"We will allow the opening of restaurants in open areas only, and the restaurateurs can live with them despite the difficulty. About 80% of the restaurants can open that way. Data from the Ministry of Health on the source of infection are not absolute - We will examine new methods and conditions for opening gyms. "
Tourism Minister Assaf Zamir said earlier in the committee: "Two weeks ago we decided on a series of restrictions. We reduced the number of participants in events, imposed restrictions on gatherings and two weeks have passed and there is a real decrease in the number of infected. And announce that the educational frameworks will continue until the planned date. "
A group of restaurateurs last night called for the restaurants to continue operating despite the government's directive to hold only takeaways and deliveries from tomorrow. They are also organizing a demonstration in front of the Prime Minister's House with the slogan "This is not the last meal", and will also distribute food from their restaurants to the needy.
