Ballistic missile fire from Iran struck multiple locations across Israel on Thursday, damaging buildings along the central coast, including the Dan Accadia Hotel, as the conflict entered a new phase of sustained escalation.

Air raid sirens sounded across central and northern Israel, sending millions into shelters. Israeli authorities said several missiles or interception fragments hit residential and commercial areas, causing casualties and structural damage.

Hezbollah escalates rocket and anti-tank fire

Simultaneously, Hezbollah intensified rocket barrages and anti-tank fire from southern Lebanon, targeting Israeli military positions and border communities.

The Israel Defense Forces said it is conducting ongoing ground and air operations against Hezbollah positions, as near-daily exchanges of fire continue along the frontier.

Israel expands strikes on missile infrastructure

In response, Israel has broadened its military campaign, targeting Iranian-linked assets and Hezbollah infrastructure, including launch sites, storage facilities and command centers.

Israeli officials said the operations are being carried out with support from the United States, as part of a coordinated effort to blunt the scale of incoming attacks.

Only one-third of Iran’s missiles destroyed

According to Israeli defense assessments, joint Israeli and U.S. strikes have so far destroyed roughly one-third of Iran’s ballistic missile arsenal.

Officials cautioned that despite these gains, Iran retains substantial capabilities and continues to launch missiles toward Israeli population centers. The full extent of the damage remains difficult to independently verify.

Multi-front conflict raises fears of prolonged war

The combination of direct Iranian missile fire and sustained Hezbollah attacks underscores the widening scope of the conflict, placing continued pressure on Israel’s air defenses and military resources.

Israeli officials say operations will continue as long as attacks persist, amid growing concern that the confrontation could develop into a prolonged regional war with no clear path to de-escalation.
