At the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, construction of the new emergency department, which is the emergency room, began.
Construction is expected to last for three years, and its completion is expected to be the emergency room of the largest and most magnificent Ichilov Hospital in Israel. It will include the large number of beds and CTs, a short hospitalization department and designated tracks. The cost of building the emergency room is about NIS 200 million. Philanthropist Silvan Adams has donated $ 20 million.
Professor Roni Gamzo, hospital director, said that Ichilov is the best, fastest and most professional in Israel with the most indulgent living conditions that Israeli patients will receive in public medicine. "
This is a three-storey building with a total area of 8,000 square meters. The facade of the new building is exposed and faces the city on Weizmann Street.
On the ground floor of the new building will be located a wing that includes 4 spacious halls containing about 100 monitored beds. The number of beds is expected to be the largest in an emergency room in Israel and in the event of an emergency can double in terms of the number of beds, a shock room with advanced equipment, the only imaging area of the emergency room with two imaging devices.
On the second floor is a wing that includes about 30 doctor's examination rooms, a treatment room and an orthopedic unit. On the roof floor, dedicated short hospital units are built with no less than 32 monitoring beds and a waiting area with a balcony overlooking the city. This is an outpatient department that provides excellent hospitalization for patients with a clear need or treatment longer than a few hours. Opening this department is also expected to reduce the burden on the inpatient wards and especially the internal wards.
At the same time, the Department of Emergency Medicine will also include receipt of designated routes in accordance with the patient's complaint for prompt treatment, effective by a dedicated team of specialists for the cause of arrival such as: an airway route, a stroke track, a chest pain route and more. In addition, for the first time, a psychiatric emergency room for appropriate and targeted treatment is expected to be opened in the Ichilov emergency department.
Recently, the Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Daniel Trotsky, has also revolutionized operational and service implementation to transition beyond compliant (floor) management to fit the new structure.
According to Prof. Roni Gamzo, Director of Ichilov Medical Center: "Ichilov's emergency room is the second number of referrals in Israel and serves the entire Tel Aviv metropolitan area with over one million people following the area's gates a day. Since I took office, over four years ago, I have defined the emergency room's work as the gateway to the hospital as the most important place to me as a manager in terms of both treatment and service and waiting times. The current sorting no longer allows for the large number of applicants and to my delight, we were able to recruit for this important cause, dear Mr. Sylvan Adams who was immediately joined for our patients in collaboration with other budget sources such as the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Ministry of Health. I pledge that in three years, Ichilov will be the best, fastest and most professional in Israel with the most indulgent living conditions that Israeli patients will receive in public medicine. "
