The cessation of train traffic between Hadera and Herzliya from Wednesday night until Sunday morning significantly affected the northern residents who work in the center of the country, who had to decide this morning whether to fight traffic jams or stay home. Many residents complained about the situation, claiming they were under siege.
The closures of Netanya, Netanya-Sapir, Beit Yehoshua and Caesarea-Pardes Hana are being carried out as part of an annual maintenance program, which will include upgrades and replacements of parties and devotees, whose job is to divert the train from one rail to another, along with communication work to upgrade the signaling system.
The trains on the Nahariya-Tel Aviv and Carmiel-Be'er Sheva lines will begin and end their journey from the north at Hadera West station, and from the south will begin their journey at the Tel Aviv Savidor Central station. The night trains on the Nahariya-Tel Aviv-Ben Gurion line will not operate from the south.
To the north, as mentioned, they will begin and end in Hadera West. The trains on the Nahariya-Tel Aviv-Beer Sheva line will begin and end their journey from the north at Binyamina Station, and from the south will begin and end at the Tel Aviv Savidor Center station. The trains on the suburban lines, including Binyamina-Rehovot / Ashkelon and Netanya-Beit Shemesh, will start and end their journey from the south at the Herzliya station, and from the north will not be operated at all.

Israel Railways and the Ministry of Transport intend by the end of 2019 to complete the connection of the express train line to Jerusalem, which currently reaches only Ben-Gurion Airport, to the Tel Aviv train stations. In order to meet the task, the train is required to electrify the rails at the Peace and Savidor stations in Tel Aviv, which requires the closure of one of the three rails on the Ayalon route.
The work will begin this coming Monday and is expected to last for six weeks: three weeks in a row, a two week break because of Chanukah and another three weeks.
The traffic on the Be'er Sheva-Ashkelon-Rishon Le-Zion Moshe Dayan-Raanana line will be stopped between the Tel Aviv Defense and Tel Aviv Savidor Center stations; Trains on this line will begin and end their journey south at the Yavneh West and Tel Aviv Hagana stations, and from the north at Bnei Brak and Tel Aviv Savidor Center stations. To make up for this, a free shuttle system will operate as a complementary project on the train and the Ministry of Transport.
During the working days, trains departing from Beersheba Station will end their journey at Yavne West Station, and trains departing from Rishon Le-Zion Moshe Dayan stations will end at the Tel Aviv Defense Station. Trains departing from Raanana to the south will begin and end their journey at Bnei Brak and Tel Aviv Savidor Central stations. There will be no train travel between Yavneh West and Rishon LeZion stations Moshe Dayan
Another line where changes will apply is Beer-Sheva Center-Rishon Lezion Moshe Dayan-Raanana West. During peak hours (6: 00-9: 00 and 15: 30-19: 00), the two trains departing hourly from Beersheba Central Station to the north will terminate their journey at Yavne West Station, and shuttles to the Tel Aviv Defense Station will be operated. Alternatively, it is possible to change trains to the north at Ashkelon or Ashdod stations.
The two trains departing hourly from Rishon Le-Zion station Moshe Dayan will mark their trip at the Tel Aviv Defense Station. Passengers to northern stations from the defense station will exchange trains at this station or use the free shuttle services offered to them.
Rail traffic from the northeast (Ra'anana West, Kfar Saba, Rosh Ha'ayin, Petah Tikva) will also be affected. Out of four trains leaving hourly from Raanana West Station to the south, two will terminate their journey at Bnei Brak Station, and two will terminate their journey at Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station. From Bnei Brak station, shuttles will be operated to Tel Aviv University and Tel Aviv Savidor Center, where it will be possible to travel by train to the north and south. At the Tel Aviv Savidor Center station, trains can be switched north and south.
At low tide, the hourly train leaves from Be'er Sheva Central Station, and the hourly train leaves from Ashkelon northbound station will terminate at the Tel Aviv Haganah station, where passengers can change trains. From the North East (Raanana West outlet stations, Kfar Saba, Rosh Ha'ayin, Petah Tikva), out of two trains leaving hourly from Raanana station, one train will terminate at Bnei Brak station, and second train will terminate at Tel Aviv station Savidor Center.
The train indicates that the Beersheba-Tel-Aviv line (through the Rahav Lehavat station, Kiryat Gat and north) will be operated as usual, and that night trains in the western Negev line between the Tel Aviv Defense and Beersheba stations will be operated as well during the working days.
