A significant missile attack occurred tonight (Sunday) as several projectiles were launched from Lebanon toward Tiberias and nearby northern settlements. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that at 11:22 p.m., approximately five missiles were detected crossing into Israeli territory near Carmel and the Gulf, leading to interception attempts.
Shortly after, additional alerts indicated about 15 more missiles launched into the Upper Galilee region. While some were intercepted, several impacted the area, resulting in injuries. One person sustained serious shrapnel injuries in Tiberias and was transported to the hospital. In total, six individuals were evacuated from the crash site, with injuries ranging from mild to moderate; fortunately, all victims were conscious, and there were no life-threatening injuries reported.
Ongoing Security Alerts
Earlier in the day, multiple security alerts prompted the Upper Galilee Regional Council and local authorities in Katzrin, Kiryat Shmona, and Shlomi to advise residents to minimize travel, avoid gatherings, and stay close to protected areas. The IDF also called for the evacuation of several buildings in Beirut in anticipation of a potential Israeli response. Beirut's international airport announced the cancellation of flights for tonight and into tomorrow.
Property Damage and Response
In Ma'alot Tarshiha, a rocket hit a residential building, causing a fire that was subsequently extinguished by the fire brigade, but thankfully, no casualties were reported. The IDF continues its efforts to intercept rocket and missile launches while targeting launch sites within Lebanese territory.
Hezbollah Targets Eliminated
In a related development, the IDF confirmed the elimination of Hader Ali Tawil, a Hezbollah company commander linked to multiple attacks on Israeli settlements, including an anti-tank missile strike earlier this year that resulted in fatalities.
Lt. Col. Avihai Adrei, IDF spokesman, issued a warning to residents of southern Lebanon, stating that anyone near Hezbollah military installations is at risk due to ongoing military operations. Adrei emphasized that these actions are necessary to safeguard Israeli civilians from further attacks.
