The IDF announced tonight the death of First Sergeant Inbar Avraham, 20, a soldier in the 890th Battalion of the Paratroopers Brigade, who was killed in a car bombing attack at the Jit Junction in Samaria.
Avraham, a resident of Lotem in the Misgav Regional Council, suffered a severe head injury in the explosion. Medical teams rushed to the scene, evacuated him while performing life-saving procedures, but were later forced to declare his death. His family has been notified.
“Inbar was a dedicated fighter, deeply committed to his comrades and his country,” said an IDF spokesperson. “The entire IDF family bows its head in grief and will continue to support his loved ones during this painful time.”
Series of Deadly Attacks
The incident is the latest in a surge of terrorist attacks that have shaken Israel over the past month.
-
Allenby Crossing Shooting (last week):
A Jordanian national drove a humanitarian aid truck from Jordan into Israel and opened fire at soldiers stationed at the Allenby border terminal. Two Israelis were killed in the attack:-
Lt. Col. (res.) Yitzhak Harosh, 68, from Jerusalem, who served in the 309th Reserve Unit of the Civil Administration.
-
Sergeant Oren Hershko, 20, from Tel Mond, a liaison NCO to foreign forces in the Tevel Brigade.
Despite prolonged CPR efforts by Magen David Adom (MDA) medics, both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Ramot Junction Shooting (earlier this month):
In Jerusalem, two terrorists opened fire at commuters waiting at a bus stop. Six civilians — one woman and five men — were killed before the attackers were shot dead by a soldier and armed civilians. Hospitals reported two critically injured, six moderately wounded, and about 30 others treated for minor injuries and shock.
Military and Political Response
The IDF and Shin Bet have launched a joint investigation into the Jit Junction bombing. Initial assessments suggest the attack was carried out by a lone operative who detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near the soldiers’ position.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant vowed a strong response:
“Our enemies must know: whoever seeks to harm the citizens of Israel will pay a heavy price. We will hunt down the perpetrators, their supporters, and anyone who enables them.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed condolences to Avraham’s family, calling him “a hero who stood on the frontlines to defend the people of Israel.” He added that Israel is “facing a brutal wave of terror, and we will defeat it together — with unity, determination, and strength.”
Escalating Tensions
The recent spate of attacks underscores the growing instability in Judea and Samaria as well as Jerusalem. Security officials note a rise in organized assaults, often carried out by militants exploiting humanitarian channels or attacking crowded civilian areas.
Analysts warn that the violence may escalate further amid regional tensions and calls from terror groups to intensify attacks during the current period. The IDF has boosted its presence in flashpoint areas, setting up additional checkpoints and conducting nightly raids in villages suspected of harboring militants.
Mourning a Fallen Soldier
First Sergeant Inbar Avraham’s funeral details will be released in the coming hours. The Misgav Regional Council issued a statement:
“Inbar grew up among us, a beloved son of the Lotem community. His dedication, courage, and smile will never be forgotten. We embrace his family and share in their grief.”
Across Israel, candlelight vigils are being planned in memory of Avraham and the other victims of recent attacks.
