Intense Fighting Continues in Khan Yunis as IDF Targets Terrorists and Unearths Weapons Cache

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported ongoing clashes in the Khan Yunis area, with Division 98 fighters actively engaged in eliminating terrorists and uncovering weapons and military equipment. A military warehouse was discovered deep in Khan Yunis, housing a significant amount of ammunition, weapons, and advanced technological means.

According to the IDF update, the commando brigade successfully targeted an aircraft, eliminating three terrorists who were attempting to bury charges near IDF forces. Close-range encounters were also reported, with the Agoz unit and Givati Brigade Combat Team eliminating numerous armed terrorists. Tank shells were deployed to neutralize seven terrorists firing RPG missiles from a building.

The 7th Brigade's fire assembly targeted a terrorist aircraft setting up an observation post, preventing an attack on IDF forces. The Health Ministry of Hamas in Gaza announced a grim toll, with 183 deaths and 377 injuries recorded in the last 24 hours.

Tragically, Major General (ret.) Eliran Yegar, 36, from Tel Aviv, a fighter in the 8170 Engineering Battalion of the Givati Brigade, lost his life in the southern Gaza Strip. Yegar, survived by his wife Raya Adani and two children, was remembered as a dedicated father. His funeral is scheduled for Sunday at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv.

This week marks the IDF's most challenging since the ground maneuver in Gaza began in late October, with three officers and 21 reserve fighters killed in separate incidents. The total IDF casualties in Gaza since the maneuver's initiation stand at 222 soldiers.

In a related development, IDF strikes in southern Lebanon targeted Hezbollah operatives, resulting in at least four casualties in Beit Leaf. Subsequently, alarms were sounded in northern Israeli settlements, with IDF warplanes hitting two operational infrastructures in Beit Leaf and a military building in Deir Ams.

The situation remains fluid, and the IDF continues its efforts to secure the region and dismantle terrorist threats.
