In a dramatic turn of events on New Year's Eve, Hamas carried out a series of rocket attacks, claiming responsibility for launching 20 rockets into the Tel Aviv area. The group boasted about its actions in a video, showcasing the launches, including the use of long-range M-90 rockets.

Surprisingly, there was no alarm in Tel Aviv, and no casualties were reported. However, fragments were reported in Rishon Lezion, emphasizing the threat posed by the attacks.

Meanwhile, tensions between the United States and Israel have intensified, as reported by the "New York Times." President Joe Biden urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take the situation more seriously, emphasizing four key points: Israel's right to self-defense, the need to remove the threat of Hamas, increased humanitarian aid to Palestinians, and minimizing civilian casualties in Gaza.

The situation escalated further with unusual drone activities. Two UAVs, one from Syria and another intercepted at the Jordanian border, raised alarms in various regions. Pro-Iranian militias claimed responsibility for an attack near the Golan Heights.

In response to ongoing hostilities, the IDF announced that reservists would be released this week, although they might be called back into service later in 2024. The military spokesperson, Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, stressed the continuous efforts to minimize harm to civilians in Gaza.

The Chief of Staff, Major General Herzi Halevi, reaffirmed the commitment to provide strong support to forces on the ground while emphasizing that instructions to open fire aim to reduce unintentional damage to IDF soldiers.

Additionally, an American aircraft carrier, the "Gerald Ford," sent to deter Hezbollah, is set to return to the USA from the eastern Mediterranean in the coming days. Despite its withdrawal, US officials assure the region will maintain military strength.

In Lebanon, the IDF targeted three terrorist squads, responding to ongoing attacks. A missile launched by Hezbollah terrorists narrowly missed a civilian in Kibbutz Dan, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of the attacks.

As tensions persist and conflicts evolve, the international community closely monitors the situation in the Middle East.
