"Israeli Attack Claims Life of Senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards Officer in Damascus"

In a targeted Israeli attack in the Damascus area, Razi Mousavi, a senior officer of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, was killed, according to an announcement by the Revolutionary Guards on Monday. Mousavi, one of the oldest commanders in Syria and closely associated with the late Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, was reportedly attacked in the Seida Zainab neighborhood.

The Hezbollah organization condemned the assassination as "murder" and a "blatant, shameless attack."

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that "Israel will surely pay the price" for the killing, emphasizing it as an expression of Israel's frustration. Israel has not officially commented on the incident.

Razi Mousavi, responsible for military coordination between Damascus and Tehran, was reportedly attacked at his home or an agricultural complex near a Hezbollah facility. The Iranian government issued a threat, stating that "Israel will pay the price" for the assassination.

In response to the incident, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remained on high alert, especially in the northern sector. There were reported exchanges of fire on the Lebanese border, with anti-tank missiles fired at Beit Hillel and Metula. The IDF continued operations in the north of the Gaza Strip.

Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, referred to Mousavi as "the Iranian advisor for the war on terrorism in Syria" and warned that the Israeli government is "counting down." Tensions are escalating, with concerns about potential responses from Iran, including in the naval arena and on the northern front.

Amid these developments, travel warnings have been issued globally, anticipating possible retaliatory actions by Iran and Hezbollah against Israelis or Jewish community locations.
