The IAI Board of Directors (IAI) approved a huge dividend of NIS 655 million for the country - the highest in the company's history. It should be noted that the dividend is distributed from the balance of the company's dividend payable, which stands at $ 398 million - approximately NIS 1.4 billion.
In 2019, IAI distributed a dividend of NIS 140 million, and since then it has improved its results.
When Michal Rosenbaum took over as director of the Companies Authority, Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman instructed her to raise dividends amounting to more than NIS 1 billion from government companies. At the beginning of the month, the company Tisha (Energy Infrastructure, formerly Tshan) announced the distribution of a NIS 200 million dividend to the state. 5771 joined Rafael, which distributed NIS 206 million in May as a dividend.
Following the decision, Rosenbaum said: "This is the largest dividend that a government company has ever distributed in a single distribution, and it completes the directive of the Minister of Finance to reach a distribution of one billion shekels."
According to the director of the Companies Authority, "The dividend expresses the responsibility and concern of a government company for its shareholders - the public in Israel. We will continue to ensure regular dividend payments as every business company treats its shareholders. .
Amir Peretz, chairman of IAI, said after the decision: "We are sending a message here that IAI belongs first and foremost to the people."
Yair Katz, chairman of the IAI Workers' Committee, said: "The workers are the ones responsible for the company's profits and successes, so when the company is strong and enjoys economic prosperity, we think the workers should be a part too. "R. and the CEO of the company and I expressed to them the demands. It was agreed to enter into a round of discussions and examine the manner in which the employees' participation in the fruits of prosperity."
