Prime Minister Naftali Bennett today (Sunday) instructed to increase enforcement of corona restrictions. In a conference he convened, the prime minister ordered the filing of criminal indictments against patients who violate isolation, the definition of events - with an emphasis on marriages - as a priority for enforcement and the regulation of legal approvals for the use of technological means to monitor isolates.
Among the means that will be used by the enforcement agencies will be the "summoning" system, which transmits the location of isolators via SMS. At the same time, it was decided to try to streamline enforcement proceedings, and to shorten the time that elapses between the imposition of a fine on violators of guidelines and its actual implementation.
The meeting was attended by, among others, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz, Minister of Internal Security Amar Bar-Lev, Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit. Execution by both police and municipal inspectors.
"Our goal is to establish reasonable guidelines, alongside aggressive and effective enforcement against violators," Bennett said. "Whoever violates the guidelines endangers his health and the rest of the citizens of Israel. We will not allow this. The delta mutation is soaring all over the world. The implementation of the guidelines in the field is a critical component in managing the epidemic to defeat the mutation."
On Thursday, a day after the Ministry of Homeland Security was blamed at a cabinet meeting, the ministry announced that 50 fines had been imposed for violators of the restrictions. Of these, 31 were given following non-wearing of a mask, and 19 for breach of insulation duty.
"Enforcement will increase in the coming days, with 1,600 municipal inspectors joining the enforcement system, advanced technological means will come into use to monitor isolation violations across the country and the inclusion of corona enforcement will be completed."
