After one year, six months and 16 days, Binyamin Netanyahu will return to the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem today (Thursday). The final number of ministers in Netanyahu's sixth government, the most right-wing government in Israel's history, and it is still unclear how fascist it will be. It can be said with certainty that the world and Israel fear the expected damage to Israeli democracy.
In some ministries - such as security, education and welfare - there will be two ministers. There will also be rotation in welfare, as well as in finance - and possibly also in other ministries that Netanyahu has not yet revealed the identity of the minister who will serve in them. Several senior members of the Likud, it should be noted, are still waiting for news from Netanyahu about their positions: these include Israel Katz, Danny Danon, Eli Cohen and Gila Gamaliel. Foreign ministers (probably in rotation), energy minister, intelligence minister and more have not yet been appointed.

Dozens of indictments were filed against the designated Minister of National Security, Knesset member Itamar Ben Gabir, of which he was convicted of eight, among others, for the offenses of rioting, vandalizing real estate, obstructing a police officer and inciting racism. As part of his profession as a lawyer, he often represents right-wing people who are suspected or accused of crimes on ideological grounds.
In the elections to the 24th Knesset, Ben Gabir signed a joint run by "Otzma Yehudit" and the "Noam" party, which opposes LGBT rights, and later the two parties united with the "Religious Zionist" party led by Bezalel Smotrich. Ben Gabir was placed in third place and elected to office for the first time In the Knesset, where he was, among other things, the chairman of the lobby for the residents of South Tel Aviv, the chairman of the lobby for IDF soldiers and the chairman of the lobby for the prevention of police violence. Now he will serve for the first time as a minister, in the ministry that was previously called internal security - and according to the coalition agreement The whole of it will be cut off from the police and subordinated to it.
Aryeh was appointed Minister of Justice and Health. Deri began his political career in the Shas. In 1988 he was appointed Minister of the Interior in Yitzhak Shamir's government and was the youngest minister in the country's history (29 years old). In 1999 he was convicted of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, and served two years in prison. After his release he returned to political life and in preparation for the Knesset elections The 19th returned to Shas leadership, was placed in second place and was chosen alongside Eli Yishai. In May 2013 he was again appointed chairman of the Shas movement.
In the Netanyahu government that was sworn in in 2015, he initially served as Minister of the Economy and Minister for the Development of the Negev and the Galilee, then moved from the Ministry of Economy to the Ministry of the Interior. In 2020, when the Netanyahu-Ganz government was formed, he was again appointed Minister of the Interior. In January of this year, Deri confessed to tax offenses - and was convicted as part of a plea deal at the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court. The enactment of a law before the inauguration allowed his appointment as a minister, following a petition submitted by the High Court of Justice to hear the matter next week.
Minister-designate Orit Struck caused an uproar when she referred to the amendment to the discrimination law, saying that "as long as there are enough other doctors who can provide a service - a doctor must not be forced to give treatment that is contrary to their religious position."
The designated Minister for Environmental Protection Idit Silman served in the previous government as the chairman of the coalition. In April 2022 she announced that she was retiring from her job and moved to the Likud, which eventually led to the fall of the Bennett-Lapid government. In the last elections, she was listed on the Likud list for the Knesset, and now she will serve in Netanyahu's government. Is her arrangement with the Likud a bribe? Many Internet surfers think so.

Bezalel Smotrich was arrested by the General Security Service in 2005 in protest against the disengagement plan. He was elected to the Knesset for the first time in 2015 on the list of the Jewish Home. After the elections in 2019, he was appointed Minister of Transportation and held the position for about six months. This time the coalition enacted a special law for him so that he would serve as finance minister alongside being a minister in the defense ministry. He will be in charge of the Civil Administration which was the responsibility of the IDF. He will also be the coordinator of government operations in the territories.
The new government is expected to approve a law that entrenches discrimination in Israel, preventing the government from being a member of the Istanbul Conference that will fight violence against women. In the Jewish community in North America, the silent protest that will be loud in the future has already begun. The Palestinian Authority is also concerned in the same way among Arab countries that have a peace agreement with Israel. The big question is what will be the nature of the relations with the United States and the European Union. The protest against the government has already started in the business sector and academia. The big question is how long Netanyahu will remain at the head of his sixth government and will he succeed in legislation to escape the clutches of the law enforcement system?
