The Ministry of Health will consider starting easing the closure in about two weeks if the morbidity data continues to fall. During the progress of the vaccination program will also be taken into account. Meanwhile, there is controversy in the government over whether to allow a large-scale opening of the economy as soon as there are two and a half million Israelis who will be vaccinated in two doses or wait until the vaccination of five million Israelis is completed. Our correspondent Liel Kaiser submits that at the current rate of immunization, such a wait would last three to four weeks.
Disagreement in the government over whether to allow a large-scale opening of the economy already when there are two and a half million Israelis who will be vaccinated in two doses or wait until the vaccination of five million Israelis is completed. At the current immunization rate, such a wait would last three to four weeks. Government officials told our correspondent Liel Kaiser that in the face of the vaccination campaign, the opening of the economy will be done less gradually than leaving the previous closures.
The Ministry of Health estimates that the health funds will be able to start this week for people aged fifty-five and up. It is estimated that there are enough vaccines so that each week the funds can invite a lower age group. Our correspondent Nov Reuveni reports that so far more than one million eight hundred thousand Israelis have been vaccinated in the first dose of the vaccine, twenty percent of the population
The Ministry of Education has begun summoning teaching staff to get vaccinated for Corona. Teaching staff who continue to work in closure are first invited: in special education institutions, institutions for at-risk youth and boarding schools for at-risk students. Our correspondent, Liran Hojhinoff, states that the vaccination campaign for early childhood education workers will begin within a few days.

The  tighter closure took effect between Thursday and Friday

The fuller and tighter closure took effect at midnight (between Thursday and Friday) and will last for two weeks, after ministers approved the closure regulations late last night, after a full day of debates.
The restrictions include the closure of the education system except for special education and closed boarding schools, the closure of commerce and business, workplaces will be closed except for essential workplaces, synagogues will be closed and prayer will be allowed in open space only.
As in previous closures, supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries will remain open. The restaurants and eateries will operate in a delivery format. Getting out of the house will be possible up to a kilometer away, gatherings will be possible up to five people indoors and up to ten people in an open space. Even individual sports are possible without limiting walking distance. Premier League teams will be able to train.
Public transportation will operate on a 50 percent occupancy basis, vital jobs will remain open, and professionals such as plumbers, electricians and the like will be able to continue working as usual. Demonstrations will be made possible while maintaining distance and wearing a mask, the courts will operate and it will be possible to receive medical or social care and transfer minors between separated parents. Weddings, alliances, bar mitzvahs, bat mitzvahs will be possible in the presence of the nuclear family while maintaining the limit of gatherings.
Flights abroad will be banned but those who purchased a ticket before the closure will be able to fly. Departure from the country after the entry of the closure will be possible only after approval by the Exceptions Committee of the Ministry of Health. Entry into the country from "dangerous countries" (which have not yet been defined) will also be allowed after ten days in solitary confinement and subject to two negative tests, in order to prevent the spread of the British and South African mutations.
Staying in someone else's house will be prohibited, sports except individual sports with no distance limit, hairdressers and beauty salons, hotels and B & Bs. Zoos, nature reserves and museums will be closed and complementary medicine will be banned.
Police are preparing to increase enforcement with the deployment of dozens of checkpoints, most of them in the evening. About 5,000 police officers will operate throughout the country. On intercity roads, 15 checkpoints will be set up during the day, 25 in the evening and 12 checkpoints at night. During the day, the police will make an effort to avoid placing permanent checkpoints in the central area so that there will be no traffic jams.
Enforcement on isolators will be intensified to the point of opening an investigation against isolators who have improved isolation several times. The amount of fines will also increase after the police decide that information and forgiveness are not enough, and that tough enforcement is needed.
Earlier, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz conducted an assessment of the situation in the defense establishment ahead of the closure, at the end of which he instructed to increase the deployment of forces in cities, clinics and hospitals. Gantz decided to prioritize the vaccination of teaching staff and at-risk populations, and not to demand additional vaccine doses to be allocated to the IDF.
