The software giant Salesforce announced this evening (Tuesday) the acquisition of the Israeli company Zoomin. The amount of the deal has not been published, but according to estimates the amount that Salesforce will pay in the first stage is approximately $350 million and may increase to $450 million after the addition of personal rewards to the company's employees and entrepreneurs, subject to a series of conditions.
Zoomin deals with the processing and accessibility of unstructured data (unstructured data) for AI engines and agents (autonomous models based on artificial intelligence and enabling the execution of complex tasks with little/no human intervention). The company was founded in 2016 by Gal Oron, Hanan Salzman and Joe Gelb, and employs about 130 people in Israel and the US. It has raised about 70 million dollars over the years and its main investors are the Bessemer Fund which was the first investor in the company, the Israeli Viola Growth and the American fund General Atlantic, and another investor is Salesforce Ventures.
The company's product connects many sources of information in the organization, structured and unstructured, many knowledge libraries including Google Drive, Confluence, websites and content management systems and more. The system catalogs and organizes the data, which optimizes the ability of artificial intelligence and users to search for relevant information and get answers to questions.
This is the third time in one month that Salesforce (+2.36% 270.44) purchases Israeli companies or companies with Israeli roots. Earlier this month, Salesforce announced the purchase of another Israeli company, Own Company, at a value of 2.1 billion dollars. It also acquired the American start-up Tenyx, one of whose founders is the Israeli Itamar Aral.
According to the company's announcement, "Following the acquisition, Zoomin's technology will be integrated into Salesforce's Agentforce platform, and thus the company's customers will be able to easily connect existing organizational information and utilize it within the framework of AI-based customer experiences. In the first step, Zoomin's solution will be integrated into Salesforce's Data Cloud as well as the customer service solution of the company (Service Cloud), and later will serve all Salesforce solutions."
Gal Oron, CEO of Zoomin stated that "This is an exciting moment for us and a natural development for the cooperation we have had with Salesforce in recent years. Organizations are increasingly expanding the implementation of AI applications. The joint mission of us and Salesforce is to ensure that they do not encounter a data 'wall' that will prevent them from enjoying the benefits of this revolution. Our integration as part of Salesforce will allow organizations to leverage their existing data in a way that was impossible until today."
