The seven directors of public hospitals in Israel have threatened to stop accepting Corona patients from Monday - because they claim that the agreements with them have not been fulfilled.
"We are here several months after signing an agreement with the Ministries of Finance and Health, and this agreement has been violated," said Shaare Zedek Hospital director Prof. Ofer Marin.

These are the Shaare Zedek and Hadassah hospitals in Jerusalem, Laniado in Netanya, the Springs of Salvation in Bnei Brak, the English Hospital in Nazareth, and the Holy Family (Italian) and St. Vincent de Paul (French) hospitals in Nazareth.
At a press conference held by the hospital directors in front of the Ministry of Health in Jerusalem, it was argued that the hospitals do not have the means to manage the treatment of the plague.
"There are seven hospital directors sitting here who have been through four corona waves," Marin said. "We work day and night, seven days a week, on Saturdays
Regarding Ynet's question regarding allegations of lack of budgets despite the increase of two billion shekels, Prof. Marin said that this was due to the government's lack of understanding of the inpatient system. "I do not want to evaluate, but need to understand a little bit about the inpatient health system," he said.
"There are different managements of the hospitals - there are government hospitals under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health. Most of the budgets that are transferred, you can read in the State Comptroller's report, go directly from the Ministry of Health to the government hospitals. The distribution of the cake - the distribution of the budget of the hospitals - is not equal. Our protest has been going on for many years. Since the beginning of the corona we have reached a real daily distress, and it is about an equal distribution of resources.il to save the State of Israel, the reddest cities. For a year and a half we have been operating our workers day and night to save the country. I am ashamed to stand here as a bankrupt. "
According to Marin, on the day the agreement was signed with the Treasury about six months ago, the hospitals were in deep distress. “It was at the height of the third wave and we didn’t want to be there, we wanted to be back with our teams so we signed the agreement,” he said. "They are not fulfilling after the agreement for 2021, and this has brought us to a real meaning that we can not treat patients starting this week. There is an issue that is long-term budgeting, in the state budget starting from 2022.
Here, too, the Ministry of Health added guilt to crime, and decided on its own how it wants to budget the hospitals without any discussion with us. That is why we are first and foremost focusing on the here and now, on the ability of the seven hospitals to continue to treat our patients tomorrow morning. That's the thing we're fighting for right now. "
