The food and hospitality services industry and the entertainment and leisure arts industry were the two main industries affected by the Corona crisis, and after the end of the third closure that took place in January 2021 a recovery is evident. On the other hand, there were decreases of 0.4% in the construction industry, 0.6% in the local administration, public and national security industry and 0.9% in the agriculture, entertainment and fishing industry.
The industries with the highest wages were the information and communications industry with an average wage of NIS 23,731 gross, the financial services and insurance services industry with an average wage of NIS 19,377 gross, the electricity supply, water, waste treatment and waste treatment services with an average wage of NIS 19,369 and professional services. The average wage in the high-tech industry in May continued to be high and stands at NIS 24,893 gross, a decrease of 6.1% compared to the previous month and an increase of 0.9% compared to the corresponding period last year.
The highest salary was recorded in the field of research and scientific development with an average salary of NIS 30,123 gross, while the lowest salary in the industry was recorded in the field of communication services with an average salary of NIS 14,711 gross. In May, the number of employee jobs in the high-tech field was about 340,000, an increase of 0.8% compared to the previous month. Employee jobs in the high-tech field accounted for 9.5% of all employee jobs.
