The National Cyber directorate and the Ministry of Communications have inaugurated a control center that will provide a national response to cyber threats to the communications sector and to maintain its functional continuity. The inauguration of the center was attended by Yigal Ona National Cyber, Head of Communications David Amsalem and Director of the Ministry of Communications Nati Cohen.

The center, which will begin operation in early February, is part of the National Cyber Events Management Center of the National Cyber Array located in the high-tech park in Be'er Sheva, and is being added to the four long-standing control centers in the areas of finance, energy, internal security and government, as well as the Public and Public Reporting Center. Each specific cyber threat area therefore requires a different response and dedicated dashboard for each. The cyber system and government ministries are planning to establish additional control centers, including transport and environmental protection.
The current center is aimed at cellular, Internet and telecommunications providers, and was established as part of the state's preparation for the challenges it poses.
Generation 5 Network As part of its mission, the Center will formulate a regular snapshot, coordinate reports, assist primary care providers in addressing and handling them, share targeted information and alerts, and work to raise the level of defense and reduce the attack surface. The center will be staffed 24 hours by analysts and cyber experts.
Minister of Communications Dudi Amsalem said during the ceremony in which the Center was inaugurated: "We are preparing for every scenario and bringing the State of Israel to maximum readiness for all the many cyber threats that are coming at our door.
"Threats and cyber challenges for telecommunications providers are on the rise. The goal of the center is to provide a better defensive envelope that will improve the scope and speed of response to cyber events at both telecommunications and national levels," he said.
