The European low-cost company Wizz Air will operate flights from Ramon airport near Eilat

The European low-cost company Wizz Air is coming to Ramon Airport and will offer Israelis direct flights from Ramon to destinations in Europe. The company will start operating two weekly flights to Vienna in Austria and Rome in Italy starting this December. The first flights are scheduled to take off on December 17.
Wiz Air hopes that the advantages of the Ramon airport will encourage people to fly from the southern field. Those who choose to fly from Ramon will be able to enjoy free parking for the duration of their stay abroad and an uncongested airport - so you can arrive only two hours before the departure time.
The new lines will operate within the framework of two weekly flights and will offer Israelis additional travel options, and at the same time the company will allow foreign tourists to Israel who wish to escape the cold winter of Europe and vacation in Eilat and the southern region.
The line from Rome to Eilat will start operating on 17.12.2022, while the line from Vienna to Eilat will start operating on 21.12.2022. Tickets can already be purchased today on the Wizz Air website and on the Wizz app.
In addition to the routes to Eilat, Wizz Air announces the launch of another route from Tel Aviv to Italy - to the coastal city. The route to Bari will start operating on 16.12.2022 and will include two weekly flights. The company recently announced the expansion of operations on routes from Israel to several destinations in Europe, including Warsaw, Bucharest , Budapest and London.
Ramon Airport is mainly used for domestic flights and is far from reaching its potential. As of today, it does not have regular regular flights abroad, but during the year, several Arkia flights left the airport for Cyprus and Georgia, and towards Passover, several flights arrived from Europe that brought tourists to Israel.
