In response to a sharp decline in international tourism amid ongoing conflict, Israeli hotels are rolling out a targeted effort to entice local vacationers. The Hotel Association, in collaboration with approximately 180 hotels nationwide, has announced a limited-time discount initiative aimed at stimulating domestic tourism during these challenging times.

The promotion, effective immediately, offers a minimum 20% discount on all vacation bookings scheduled between June 18 and August 13, 2024. This 48-hour flash sale begins today at 13:00 and ends on June 20 at the same time. Participating hotel chains include Isrotel, Dan, Fattal, Astral, Atlas, and Brown, spanning popular destinations such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Eilat, and the Sea of Galilee.

This initiative mirrors a similar campaign held in September 2023, illustrating the industry's proactive approach to supporting local tourism amidst geopolitical tensions.

Explaining the rationale behind the campaign, the Hotel Association emphasized its goal to provide Israelis with a reliable vacation option amidst global uncertainty, rising anti-Semitism, and travel disruptions. By offering substantial discounts, hotels aim to alleviate concerns about flight cancellations and other logistical challenges, providing a safe and predictable getaway within Israel.

The promotion will apply to a maximum of 20,000 nights initially, with potential for expansion based on demand. Interested vacationers can take advantage of the discounts through the association's digital booking platform, which has been upgraded to accommodate high traffic following past challenges. Additionally, bookings can be made directly through individual hotel websites, subject to availability and booking policies.

As an example of the discounted rates, a family vacation package for three nights at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Eilat during July, originally priced at NIS 9,292, will be reduced to NIS 7,433 with the 20% discount. Similarly, stays at the VERT Eilat and Leonardo Boutique Hotel Jerusalem will see significant price reductions, catering to various preferences and budgets.

With a focus on accessibility and affordability, this initiative aims to revive local tourism while providing families and individuals with an opportunity to explore and enjoy Israel's diverse attractions. As uncertainties persist globally, Israeli hotels are committed to ensuring memorable and stress-free vacations for their domestic guests.
