From next Sunday, and for a week, train traffic between Haifa and Tel Aviv will be stopped. The Ministry of Transportation, which announced this, stated that the reason is the promotion of the 'Eastern Railway' project, and the date is set in advance for the summer months, when there is a natural decrease in the number of journeys.
Following this, from Sunday, July 24 until Saturday evening, July 30, train traffic between Netanya stations (south) and Binyamina (north) will be stopped and train service between Haifa and Tel Aviv will not be possible. By train announced a month ago the intention to shut down the line during the big holiday, and now published the full details about the shutdown.

According to the announcement, trains on the Binyamina - Rehovot / Beer Sheva line will begin and end their journey at the Netanya station and will not stop at the Binyamina station; Trains on the Nahariya-Modi'in line will operate in a split format: between Nahariya and Binyamina stations, and between Tel Aviv University and Modi'in stations; They will operate in a split format: between the Carmiel and Haifa Hof Hacarmel stations, and between the Herzliya and Beer Sheva stations.
The train said that "the eastern track will be another railway axis between the north and center and south, and will allow a significant improvement of railway service throughout the country, along with a significant increase in cargo transport, which will reduce road congestion and air pollution, and increase road safety."
As part of the project, the complex will carry out complex engineering work in the Hadera area, in which preparatory work will be carried out to connect the future eastern railway with the existing coastline railway, and the laying of divisions (a railway component that splits an existing railway into several railways).
The announcement also states that a comprehensive transportation system will be operated between Binyamina and Beit Yehoshua stations throughout all hours of operation, in both directions. In addition, the regular bus lines will be strengthened:
Line 980 from Haifa Bay Central Station to Tel Aviv Savidor Central Station. Line 901 from Haifa Central Station Hof Hacarmel to Tel Aviv Central Station (via Tel Aviv Savidor Central and Tel Aviv Hashalom stations).
