The Labor party and  "Gesher" with Orly Levy-Abekasis stwill unite with Meretz and the Democratic unity. They will run together in one left party for the 23rd Knesset. At the conclusion of a meeting at the home of Labor chairman Amir Peretz in Sderot, Labor chairman-Gesher Orly  Levy and chairman of Meretz  Nitzan Horowitz. They agreed to unite for the upcoming elections.

"Peretz and Horowitz intend to emphasize the gospel of significant unification and the hope for political change that will be the social heart and political compass of the next government after the end of the Netanyahu era," the party's statement said. Tonight, the two will hold a press conference in which they will make a statement to the media. Former Labor Party negotiators, former Minister Ofir Pines-Paz and Labor Secretary-General Eran Hermoni and, on behalf of Meretz, Party Secretary Tomer Reznik and Dror Morag, will soon finalize the drafting of the final agreement, together with the appendices to prepare for signing on the island. Forces and signatories tomorrow, the Labor Party Conference and the Meretz Conference will convene to ratify the unification agreement between the parties.
The Democratic camp will have four places in the top ten, out of the top eight. In the first quintet were Peretz, Levi-Abaxis, Horowitz, Zandberg, Shmuli. In addition, MKs Yair Golan and Ilan Gilon will be placed in the second quintet alongside Amar Bar-Lev, Mav Michaeli and Rital Souid.
MK Ilan Gilon has welcomed the unification of the parties. "For a long time I have been pushing for this partnership, which ignites the flame of hope for a just society and a reformed country strives for peace," said Gilon. "Zionism, socialism and the fraternity - again, and on the map. Come on, beginners. "
Rabbi Michaeli also welcomed the joint run, which she said would "save the State of Israel and preserve it as a Zionist and democratic state of the Jewish people." In a tweet posted on Twitter, Michaeli wrote: "We have promised to do whatever it takes to replace Netanyahu's dangerous right-wing rule and that is what we are doing. Now with the face forward, we will all run together to victory."
Shafir, who was not included in the union, said "this connection must not become a concession." She said she worked "from morning till evening" for unification on the left, but "the Great Union is supposed to be a union of change and a hope of hope. A union that looks like a work list only distances the public from politics, while our most important task today in a camp that believes in Israel - is to build the Trust again. To offer a new vision, to offer an exciting way. "
This morning, Shafir told the media she was disappointed, and during the day "she will have to make a tough decision." She says, "It is precisely your friends who can try to keep you away from strengthening the partnership we have, which is disappointing. Sometimes politicians prefer the old to the new, but the public is the one to decide. In the next few days, I will have to make a hard decision whether to run independently within a party or leave." .
She added that "I will consider all the considerations and decide, so that we can win this election as one united and united bloc and also for our votes to be represented. Nobody will bring out a whole generation of young people from politics because of some combination, and we can continue to make an impact."
