Chairman of the Knesset's Interior Committee Said Al-Kharomi died from a heart attack

The chairman of the Knesset's Interior Committee, Said Al-Kharomi (RAAM), died last night (Tuesday to Wednesday) at the age of 49 after suffering a heart attack. "The Islamic Movement and Ra'am announce with great sorrow the death of the righteous Banan, MK Said al-Kharomi, after a heart attack during the night," the party said in a statement.

The party's statement reads: "Al-Kharomi, a resident of Segev Shalom from the Negev, the son of Arab society and the Palestinian people, sacrificed his life years to serve the members of Arab society and the burning issues of his society as chairman of the Negev Arab steering committee and head of the Segev Shalom Council and Member of Knesset ".

Al-Kharoumi was a Bedouin from the Saudi al-Azazma tribe. His father was a farmer who raised sheep. Al-Kharomi had eight brothers and sisters. [3] He attended Jat High School in the Triangle. Since his nuclear family lives in the Negev, Al-Harumi lived with his relatives for three years to study in Jat. He studied at the Hebrew University, holds a bachelor's degree in physics and was a physics teacher.

In the April 2019 elections, he was placed in seventh place on the RAAM-Balad list but was not elected to the Knesset. In the run-up to the September 2019 elections (the 22nd Knesset), he was elected in third place on behalf of RAAM, placed 11th on the joint list, and elected to the Knesset.
In the run-up to the 23rd Knesset elections, he was placed 3rd on the RAAM list and placed 11th in the joint list faction and was elected to the Knesset, after the list received 15 seats. ] And was elected to the Knesset. In the vote to form the government of Israel, the thirty-six that Ra'am was a partner in, Al-Kharumi was the only one who abstained from voting, and the government rose by a majority of 60 to 59.
