Recent anti-Semitic demonstrations across US universities have sparked widespread concern and prompted a stern response from authorities. In response to escalating violence, police have taken decisive action, leading to the arrest of over 20 protesters at the University of Texas. Recent anti-Semitic demonstrations in the United States have ignited concerns nationwide as clashes between protesters and authorities intensify. In a series of incidents, including those at the University of Texas and the University of Southern California, authorities have taken a tougher stance, leading to multiple arrests.

At the University of Texas, more than 20 protesters have been arrested, with similar actions taken against demonstrators at the University of Southern California. Videos circulating online depict police officers resorting to batons in response to what was described as excessive violence by protesters.

Texas Governor condemns the demonstrations, advocating for the expulsion of students involved and even suggesting jail time. These sentiments were echoed by Jewish professor Shay Davidei, who expressed frustration over perceived favoritism towards pro-Hamas demonstrators.

In Austin, Texas, clashes erupted between pro-Palestinian students and local police, resulting in dozens of arrests. The students demanded a university boycott of investments in Israel and arms manufacturers.

In New York, Columbia University reached a temporary compromise with pro-Palestinian protesters, allowing their encampment to remain for at least 48 hours under certain conditions, including the removal of tents and a ban on discriminatory language.

Amid escalating tensions, US House Speaker Mike Johnson visited universities to address the rise of anti-Semitism on campuses. The Attorney General of New York also announced investigations into the protests.

The White House, while affirming the importance of free speech, condemned anti-Semitism and violence, emphasizing the need for peaceful demonstrations.

Internationally, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei weighed in on the issue, expressing support for the Palestinian cause while criticizing Western governments. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu denounced the demonstrations, likening them to events in 1930s Germany and calling for unequivocal condemnation.

As universities grapple with the fallout, concerns persist over the escalation of anti-Semitic sentiments and the need for dialogue to address underlying tensions.
