In a historic gathering on the iconic Mall Avenue, approximately 290,000 supporters of Israel rallied to voice their solidarity, demanding the release of hostages held by Hamas and condemning the surge of anti-Semitism in the United States. The event, named the "March for Israel," witnessed the largest Jewish gathering in U.S. history, with an additional 100,000 participating online, according to organizers.

Renowned Israeli singers Yishai Rivo and Omer Adam graced the occasion, with Adam delivering a stirring rendition of the Israeli national anthem, earning thunderous applause. The diverse gathering bridged ideological gaps, uniting organizations such as "Americans for Peace Now" and the Zionist Organization of America.

The Jewish Agency broadcasted the rally live to Tel Aviv's Kidnapped Square, drawing the attention of envoys from across North America and the agency's chairman, Doron Almog. Security measures prompted the closure of many surrounding streets as supporters waved the Star of David and U.S. flags.

Key figures, including State President Yitzhak Herzog, addressed the crowd from the Western Wall, emphasizing unity against Hamas's actions and expressing support for Jews worldwide. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries delivered speeches, joined by Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt and former minister Natan Sharansky.

Over 100 families of abductees held captive by Hamas, part of a Chabad delegation, attended the event after visiting the Lubavitch Rebbe's grave in Queens. Israel's ambassador to the U.S., Michael Herzog, outlined the threat posed by Hamas and thanked U.S. public officials for their unwavering support.

The rally also faced challenges, with the last-minute cancellation of buses for hundreds of Israelis. Organizers claimed "anti-Semitic bus drivers" refused to drive participants, a claim confirmed by the Jewish Federation of Detroit, leading to promises of action against the driver.

In a rare move, several ultra-Orthodox yeshivas canceled classes, and Yeshiva University brought 1,400 students and faculty to Washington. Public figures like Juliana Margolis, Danny Avdia of the Washington Wizards, and actress Noa Tashvi used social media to mobilize attendance.

While the "March for Israel" unfolded in Washington, a pro-Palestinian demonstration took place in New York, underscoring the ongoing tensions and global impact of the Israel-Palestine conflict.
