In the wake of the contentious decision by the Strauss company to halt its advertising on Channel 14, a storm of controversy has erupted, leading to a boycott backed by right-wing factions. Recent developments have taken a disturbing turn, with reports emerging that threats against the company's chairwoman, Ofra Strauss, have prompted the deployment of security personnel for her protection. This alarming situation has been brought to light by N12.

The saga unfolded in the previous week, initially sparked by remarks made by panelist Ari Shamai on the program "The Patriots." Shamai's call for the release of Yigal Amir ignited a firestorm of debate. Subsequently, Strauss publicly announced the termination of advertising on Channel 14. This move set off an intense campaign by both the channel's staff and right-wing groups, all expressing their ire toward the company.

The Call for a Boycott:

Yanon Magal, presenter of "The Patriots," vociferously condemned the Strauss company's actions, urging a boycott of its products. Magal characterized the move as an act of war against Channel 14 and lambasted Ofra Strauss, branding her as an ultra-left billionaire who prioritized her political stance over the interests of the people of Israel.

Menachem Toker, a presenter on Channel 14, Channel 13, and Kol Hai radio, alleged that Strauss had ceased donations to a prominent ultra-Orthodox organization that supplies food baskets to the needy approximately two months ago.

In the digital realm, the outrage intensified. Yoav Eliasi took to Facebook to criticize Strauss and shared data from the "Disconnect Me" platform indicating a significant surge in disconnection requests from the company's services. Eliasi cited this as evidence that the public was voicing its discontent.

Following Strauss's announcement of the advertising cessation, a counter-protest unfolded. Data from the "Disconnect Me" platform revealed a rapid escalation in disconnection requests from Tami 4, the group associated with Strauss. Tuesday, August 18th, saw a remarkable surge in such requests, with social media amplifying the movement.

Within the first day of the consumer protest, nearly 2,000 individuals had disconnected through the "Disconnect Me" platform. This number ballooned to 3,000 within the initial 48 hours, underscoring the intensity of the sentiment. Numerous consumers chose to disconnect multiple subscriptions under their names, reflecting the breadth of dissatisfaction.

As of August 7th, data from "Disconnect Me" indicated that around 6,200 disconnection requests had been submitted to the Tami 4 company. These requests were channeled through online forms, app submissions, and direct calls to customer service, demonstrating a substantial response.

A multitude of complaints against Tami 4 have been registered through "Disconnect Me." Consumers voiced their frustration over extended waiting times, abrupt disconnections, and recorded messages urging callbacks for disconnection procedures. Many disconnection notices conveyed disappointment, anger, and calls for the company to refrain from intertwining politics with business.

Manmrod Bardugo, owner of "Disconnect Me," highlighted the unprecedented surge in disconnection requests directed at the Strauss company. He noted the palpable sense of anger and discontent among consumers who perceived themselves as being treated unfairly. The intense public reaction reflects not only dissatisfaction with the Tami 4 services but also a broader critique of the actions taken by the Strauss Group.

The fallout from Strauss's decision to cease advertising on Channel 14 continues to reverberate, with the public expressing its disapproval through both vocal protests and tangible disconnections. The intertwining of business decisions and political stances has evoked strong sentiments, creating a significant challenge for the Strauss company moving forward.
