In a courageous rescue mission, four abducted individuals in Nusirat, Commander Arnon Zamora of the police's counter-terrorism unit tragically lost his life. The police hailed his actions as "heroism under fire," emphasizing his bravery amidst danger.

Zamora, aged 36 and a resident of Sde David near Sderot, leaves behind a grieving wife and two children. His sacrifice occurred during a daring operation to liberate Noa Argamani (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Shlomi Ziv (40), and Andrey Kozlov (27), who had been held captive by Hamas for 246 days. These individuals were abducted during a nature party in Barai.

The operation, executed with precision by IDF forces, the Shin Bet, and the Israel Police, took place in the heart of Nusirat in the Gaza Strip. Despite the tragic loss of Zamora, the mission achieved its primary objective: the safe return of the abducted individuals.

President Yitzhak Herzog expressed profound gratitude to the involved authorities, commending their valor, determination, and exceptional performance. He conveyed his appreciation for their role in saving lives and securing the release of prisoners, expressing hope for future successes in similar endeavors.
