Even if we do not take this day into account, we still have an average of 15 new serious patients. Which are added daily. "
Just before the committee was to vote on whether to reopen the gyms and public pools, which the government decided to close, a heated confrontation developed in the Knesset corridors. In the end, the vote was postponed until tomorrow.
The Ministry of Health today published new definitions of the condition of corona patients in hospitals according to fixed indicators: a patient in a mild condition will be defined as suffering from symptoms including fever, cough, weakness and loss of taste and smell only. A patient in moderate condition will be defined as having only an X-ray diagnosis of complications of the virus, especially health. The leading parameter in determining a patient's condition as severe is blood oxygen saturation of 93% and below without support.
For comparison, according to the old procedure of the Ministry of Health, a patient in a moderate condition was defined as having an oxygen saturation of less than 90%. Meaning: Patients who were previously defined as moderate will now be defined as in a critical condition. The new guidelines will take effect tomorrow.
So far there have been no fixed definitions that required all hospitals in the country. Some followed the old Ministry of Health procedure, compared to others - including Sheba, Beilinson and Ichilov - which followed the World Health Organization's indices, which were considered more stringent and in fact more similar to those finally set out in the updated procedure.
