The Ministerial Committee on a Limited Area decided tonight to declare certain neighborhoods in some cities around the country as "restricted areas" for seven days. These areas will be limited from 1pm today until next Friday - 17.7pm at 8pm. In "restricted areas" entry and exit to and from the area will be restricted as well as traffic and business activity within the area itself.
In Jerusalem, it was decided to close the neighborhoods of Romema, Kiryat Sanz and Belz and Kiryat Matsdorf. Beit Shemesh limits will be imposed on ranch and rest neighborhoods and the perfume barrel. In Lod, the neighborhoods will be bordered by parks and land, while in Ramla, restrictions will be imposed in the Amidar Bilu neighborhood, and in Kiryat Malachi, the Rutner and Chabad estates will be restricted.
In addition, the ministerial committee decided to declare the railway neighborhoods, Snir and Neve Shalom in Lod as a "restricted area" for another five days, after the expiry of the previous declaration. The neighborhood restriction will continue until Wednesday.
Bnei Brak's mayor, Abraham Rubinstein, also joined in the remarks, which noted that the municipality controls the situation and handles all areas of morbidity strictly. "Bnei Brak admits to trying perhaps more than any other city in the country to deal with the Corona virus, and even experienced the closure most significantly in the first wave," he mentioned.
Ashdod Mayor Yechiel Lesri said the city is experiencing a decline in morbidity, which would allow the closure. "This past week, we are seeing a decline in urban morbidity data. This compares with the past week. Therefore, I believe that the closure that began last Thursday and ended this morning will not be extended again by the Corona Government's wide-ranging advocacy and enforcement efforts. In a way that the closure can be removed while continuing to adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines. "
